At first glance, this long-time Greek and Italian area appears lost as neither country qualified. However, the fast-changing hub has substantial North African-Middle Eastern, Slavic, and Brazilian populations. Bayside

With Bell Boulevard and Northern Boulevard, Bayside has two major thoroughfares that are full of life and excited fans. Head there for everything from an Irish bar to a hip modern hotspot or a Korean-Japanese fusion restaurant. Also consider 35th Avenue and Northern Boulevard.

Flushing

Manhattan and San Francisco have neighborhoods called “Chinatown,” while Los Angeles has a Koreatown. But those are really just marketing terms. Flushing is the epicenter of pan-Asian life in the diaspora. It’s a kind of world capital with hotels, restaurants, bubble tea joints, clothing stores, and entire shopping centers dedicated to Asian culture. Pay a visit to Main Street, College Point Boulevard, Prince Street, and the Murray Hill section for Korean businesses.

Forest Hills & rego Park

Waves of immigrants from former Russian Republics have been arriving in Rego Park and Forest Hills since the 1980s…and they’re still coming. The result is some great restaurants, bars, and beauty salons owned by Russian speakers from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan. You’ll find the best along Austin Street, Queens Boulevard, and 108th Street.

Jackson Heights & Corona

Considered to be the most diverse zip code in the entire world, this bustling neighborhood has a comfortable place for just about any supporter. South America is very well represented in the commercial corridors, where fans will celebrate loudly outside after each victory. Consider Roosevelt Avenue, 37th Avenue, 82nd Street, and Northern Boulevard – and continue east along the 7 train for even more fun in Corona.

Jamaica

They mix with Indians, Bangladeshis, Pakistanis, and followers of Sri Chimnoy to create one of the most vibrant communities in the city. Celebrate with fans along Parsons Boulevard, Jamaica Avenue, and Sutphin Boulevard.

Ridgewood

During World War II, Ridgewood had so many Germanic residents that the Nazis sent spies there. Things have changed a bit, but a Western-Eastern Europe vibe still exists along with old-world restaurants and bakeries. Thanks to a recent wave of young creatives, many restaurants and bars cater to the 20-something crowd. See it all along Myrtle Avenue, Fresh Pond Road, and Fairview Avenue.

Though predominantly Irish for decades, these twin neighborhoods have welcomed waves of immigration from Latin America and the Philippines over the past few decades. Explore Roosevelt Avenue, Skillman Avenue, 43rd Avenue, and Queens Boulevard.

The Rockaways

It’s going to be hot, and visitors will be thinking about beach breezes and ocean waves. The Rockaways – a peninsula with a seven-mile beach boardwalk, a wildlife refuge, and the best surfing on the Eastern Seaboard – is the perfect place to enjoy nature and watch soccer. Just like the rest of Queens, it’s incredibly diverse with Central American, Irish, Jewish, Nigerian, Polish, and West Indian enclaves. Pay a visit and cool down along Rockaway Beach Boulevard, Beach 129th Street, and Seagirt Boulevard.
